The TA Center

Meet Terris Hagan, MS, LPC, NCC

Terris is a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and Certified
Positive Discipline Parent Educator. She specializes in providing play therapy to children who
experience challenges related to: anxiety, trauma, emotion regulation, social skills, self-esteem,
and neurodiversity (including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, learning differences).

As a warm, heart-centered therapist I am interested in joining my clients on a journey to live life
more fully and authentically. My goal is to provide a safe, genuine space for individuals to
explore their world together. We all face challenges throughout our lives, some of which develop
within and others from external forces. I help my clients discover that they have choices,
empowering them to create purpose and meaning in their life. By connecting an individual to
their inner strengths, we develop tools to thrive and live wholly. I am sensitive to acknowledge
and highlight that not everyone has equal choices and believe all are capable of change.

My passion is utilizing the therapeutic power of play and creative arts with children ages 3-12. I
do my best work with kiddos who are big feelers looking for a nurturing environment to explore
and express those feelings. When working with children, I use techniques from child-centered
play therapy and Adlerian play therapy to best fit the needs of each client. Through
developmentally appropriate medium, clients are able to naturally explore, learn, and grow. I
view parents and caregivers as an integral part of the process and work closely with them to
align a network of support for the child.

I received my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State
University and my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Georgia.
